Delta Lake is situated a few miles north of the city of Rome. It was created as a water supply reservoir for the New York State Barge Canal and to help control flooding and thus can experience wide fluctuations in water level. The lake supplies good fishing for smallmouth bass, walleye and trophy northern pike.
