This map was created for the New York State Assembly and depicts active railroads in the downstate New York area. Also shown are the 2002 New York Congressional Districts.

Railroad Post Office Volumes.

This map, designed for an article that appeared in The Keystone, the official publication of the Pennsylvania Railroad Technical and Historical Society, sybolizes mail flow as proportioned rail lines. The addition of a very smoothed shaded-relief helps give this map a more realistic appeal.
